Our student of the II edition of the Expert Degree in Leadership and Civic Engagement, Paula Otero Santos has participated on behalf of CEFAS in the latest edition of the Young Leaders Academy organized in Sweden by New Direction, the largest conservative think tank in Europe, together with OIKOS and Konservativa Förbundet.
More than 120 students and young professionals attended various debates and training sessions on how to address the challenges facing the West from a conservative perspective, equipping them with the necessary tools to strengthen conservatism in Europe.
Some of these discussions addressed practical examples of how conservative organizations around the world are acting in the face of issues such as the hegemony of the left in the media around the world, the Culture Battle, Green Religion or the so-called Capitalism Woke. In this sense, a message of hope was launched for all those who still believe in the richness of tradition and the defense of conservative values as engines of our societies.
“I am a conservative thinker, well known as such, outspoken as such but reasonable in my view”.
Roger Scruton
In addition, attendees at this Young Leaders Academy also had the opportunity to learn first-hand about the legacy of Sir Roger Scruton, one of the greatest thinkers of the 20th century conservative movement, during a dinner hosted in his honor and chaired by his wife, Lady Sophie Scruton.
