The President of the CEU University Foundation and the Catholic Association of Propagandists, Alfonso Bullón de Mendoza, together with the Executive Director of CEU-CEFAS, Fernando Nistal, visited the cities of Lima and Quito to gain insight into the political, economic, cultural, and religious realities of both countries, to promote a stronger presence of the San Pablo CEU University Foundation and its initiatives in Latin America, and to establish connections with other educational, business, and policy institutions.

The visit began in Lima, where they held important meetings with the presidents and leadership teams of several universities, including Jaime Bausate y Meza University, San Martín de Porres University, and Peruvian University of Applied Sciences. Seeking to learn firsthand about the role of Christian leaders in public life, Bullón de Mendoza also visited the Lima City Hall and the Congress of the Republic of Peru, where he held productive meetings with national legislators Adriana Tudela (Avanza País) and José Cueto (Honor y Democracia).
In Ecuador, the agenda continued with new and significant meetings with higher education institutions such as the San Francisco de Quito University—where they were received by its president, Diego Quiroga—and the Catholic University of Santiago de Guayaquil. They also met with members of Acción Democrática Nacional, including Esteban Torres; with the leadership of the Corporación Autogobierno y Democracia (a liberal-conservative think tank); with Pablo Beltrán, President of the Ecuadorian Higher Education Council; Enrique Yturriaga, Spain’s Ambassador to Ecuador; Aurelio Valarezo, Advisor to CACES; and with representatives from the Spanish Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Ecuador.

In addition, they met with key representatives from the ecclesiastical sphere, including members of the Peruvian Episcopal Conference and its Office of Catholic Education, as well as Father Elías Arribasplata, P.E.S., Superior General of Pro Ecclesia Sancta.
Regarding the economic and corporate sectors, the President of the Catholic Association of Propagandists also met with leading business figures in Peru, visited the Spanish Chamber of Commerce, held an extensive discussion with Alejandro Abellán, Spain’s Ambassador to Peru, and had productive meetings with Morgan N. Quero, Peru’s Minister of Education, and Fernán Altuve, President of the Peruvian Academy of Moral and Political Sciences.
