The Centre for Studies, Training and Social Analysis organised several meetings with Mr Mike González, senior fellow of The Heritage Foundation, the most influential conservative think tank in the United States, in which different representatives of Spanish society participated. In these meetings, the American, Gonzalez, portrayed the situation of American parents in relation to the freedom they have to educate their children; a situation that, in many cases, we also experience in Spain.
During the meeting with parents that took place at the CEU San Pablo University in Madrid, González stated that “in the United States we are facing a war of cultures and a reconquest of the ground that the left had conquered is beginning to take place“. In this regard, he expressed his optimism and confidence in achieving good results.
With regard to the war being waged by American parents, the senior fellow of The Heritage Foundation explained that the battle is between parents of schoolchildren and a left that insists on indoctrinating children. “American conservatives are in agreement in the war of parents against the left” and in this respect, he added that “there is going to be a synthesis on the right that is in agreement in defending parents and in not indoctrinating children“.
He also pointed out that “we have forgotten the virtues and the common good” and encouraged parents to wage a cultural battle. In the United States “parents are rebelling against gender theories, in an ideology that replaces the objective reality of what we are, they demand that we believe in it and that we respect it”, “they want to change the country”, he added.
González is an expert in critical race theory, which argues that America is a systematically racist country; an idea that propaganda has helped to establish in American society and, in particular, he stated that “it was the tragedy of Mr George Floyd that transformed the country”. In this regard, González pointed out that the left has abandoned the class struggle and has now focused on the race struggle. “In Spain you don’t have races, but you do have sexes“, he affirmed and encouraged parents to unite to defend the freedom to educate.
