The University Foundation San Pablo CEU had the honor of welcoming María Corina Machado, leader of the Venezuelan opposition and recipient of the 2025 Nobel Peace Prize, for her meeting with various political and civil society representatives from Venezuela.


The Nobel Prize laureate was welcomed by the director of CEU CEFAS, Elio A. Gallego, and its executive director, Fernando Nistal, who highlighted the significance of this visit for the institution and reaffirmed CEU’s strong commitment to the promotion of democratic values and the defense of freedom.
During her visit, María Corina Machado held a working meeting with various representatives of Vente Venezuela, a Venezuelan political movement, as well as members of different Venezuelan social and political institutions. The meeting aimed to analyze the current situation in the country and strengthen ties of collaboration among those committed to freedom.


In this context, she conveyed a message of firm commitment to democratic values, encouraging those present to continue working resolutely in defense of freedom in Venezuela. She also underscored the importance of keeping hope and civic mobilization alive, insisting on the need to move forward toward a process that guarantees free and fair elections.
