Our student of the III edition of the CEU-CEFAS Expert Degree in Leadership and Civic Engagement, Ricardo Martín de Almagro, has completed his training fellowship in the United States at the conservative think tank, The Heritage Foundation.
During his stay, Martín de Almagro conducted a study focused on ESG (Environmental, Social, Governance) criteria. His research has addressed, firstly, the Environmental criterion, assessing the extent to which investments qualified as “green” generate a real and positive impact on both the environment and the quality of life of citizens. Secondly, it analyzed the Social criterion, examining what is currently understood by “social criteria” in the ESG framework, and questioning both its definition and its application. Finally, in relation to the Governance criterion, he focused his analysis on determining whether governance policies have effectively contributed to greater institutional transparency, and whether these improvements are reflected in public life or, on the contrary, continue to be conditioned by opaque economic interests.
Our student has been able to develop his research work at The Heritage Foundation, for which he has had the support of the community of renowned researchers. He has enjoyed this training scholarship thanks to his brilliant training in the Expert Degree in Leadership and Civic Engagement of CEU-CEFAS.
