On April 26, our academic secretary, Fernando Nistal; our head of the International Area, Eduardo Puig de la Bellacasa and our head of Studies and Social Analysis, Gonzalo Sanz-Magallón presented the CEU-CEFAS Report “The influence of China in Latin America” to representatives of the Renew Europe, ECR and European People’s Party Europarliamentary groups.
The CEFAS delegation met with the MEP of the Renew Europe group, José Ramón Bauzá; the MEP and head of ECR Foreign Policy, Wojciech Danecki; and the MEPs of the European People’s Party, Isabel Benjumea, Javier Zarzalejos and Leopoldo López. During the various meetings, concern was expressed about the growing influence of the Asian country in different productive sectors of the Ibero-American region, thus displacing Europe and the United States. In this way, CEFAS wanted to alert the various representatives of the European institution of this new international context to which it must respond.
