CEFAS Reports

El presente informe analiza la Estrategia de Seguridad Nacional de Estados Unidos de 2025, sus fundamentos doctrinales y el nuevo posicionamiento estratégico hacia el hemisferio occidental, así como las amenazas interconectadas que condicionan sus prioridades —el narcoterrorismo, la migración masiva y la influencia de potencias extrarregionales—, y examina las implicaciones que este reajuste estratégico plantea para la estabilidad regional y el liderazgo global de Estados Unidos.

Este informe es fruto de la estación formativa de nuestra alumna de la V promoción del Diploma Universitario de Experto en Liderazgo y Compromiso Cívico, Cristina Pastor, en el think tank conservador más prestigioso de Estados Unidos, The Heritage Foundation. 

El presente informe analiza la evolución reciente del hecho religioso en Estados Unidos y sostiene que, lejos de una secularización irreversible, el país vive un renacimiento espiritual fundamentado en la recuperación de la tradición y la identidad cristiana. Destaca la estabilidad del catolicismo frente al declive de otras denominaciones, la reactivación de la práctica religiosa y el papel de factores como la inmigración hispana y la creciente visibilidad pública de los creyentes, concluyendo que el retorno a las raíces religiosas se ha convertido en un elemento clave para comprender la dinámica cultural y social actual.

In this report by CEU-CEFAS, together with the Center for a Free Cuba and the Spanish Association for Cuba in Transition, we analyze how the Cuban dictatorship has resorted to political violence and terrorism since its inception. Over time, the intensity and manifestations of terror have evolved and become part of more complex strategies. However, the regime has never apologized, has never ceased to protect its perpetrators, and has consistently worked to legitimize it internationally.

In this report, we analyze trends in educational freedom across various countries, taking into account its potential drivers and the relationship between educational freedom and different economic, social, and educational indicators. This study was carried out in collaboration with the CEU Institute of Family Studies and OIDEL.

This report analyzes the current state of democracy in Ibero-American countries and explains why a new Western conservative coalition with Ibero-America is necessary, and why conservatives should care about what is happening on the continent.

We examine the consequences of ETA terrorism and exclusionary nationalism at the demographic, economic, and social levels in the Basque Country. Between 1977 and 2022, it is estimated that approximately 180,000 people left the region—an exodus that has contributed to the establishment of a nationalist model in both the political and social spheres of the region.

We analyze the growing political and cultural influence of China in Ibero-America, where it has become an alternative reference model to the West. In this paper, we present the challenges posed by the new strategic configuration and invite reflection on the role of China and the Western powers in a region with which we share history, culture, language, and ties that go beyond commercial relations.
